Neighborhood Watch is a network of concerned citizens working with their local law enforcement agency to keep their community safe.
How the program works: When you are away at work, shopping, or on vacation your neighbors are still around. Taking advantage of this valuable resource, your community, the neighbors watch out for one another. When there is a car parked in your driveway, and your neighbor knows you have just left home for the day, they call the Police Department to investigate. Neighborhood watch as a program brings the community back to watching out for one another.
On the occasion that there was a serious police situation that may affect the neighborhood, the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office would call your Neighborhood Watch Captain and advise any pertinent information, then through a phone chain the information can be shared throughout the Neighborhood.
How to join your local neighborhood watch, or form one in your area. Contact your neighbors to see if there is a neighborhood watch in your neighborhood. If there is interest in starting one.
