The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office cannot solve crimes alone. Community involvement plays a vital role in assisting us in solving crimes that occur.

Here are a few tips how you can help. Information concerning unsolved crimes and wanted persons is provided by the Criminal Investigation Division. *** SOLVED *** On 24 May 2017, Shanna Golyar of Persia, Iowa, was found guilty of 1st Degree Murder in Douglas County, Nebraska. Judge Timothy Burns announced the guilty verdict calling the case a, "twisted plot." Judge Burns declared, "Cari Farver did not voluntarily disappear and drop-off the face of the earth. Very sadly, she was murdered. The Court finds beyond a resonable doubt that the defendant intentionally killed Cari Farver with deliberate and premeditated malice." Missing Cari Lea Farver Age at Report: 37 Age Now: 49 Weight: 145 lbs Height: 5’ 7“ Race: White Hair: Brown Eyes: Hazel Sex: Female Cari Farver was reported missing to the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office on 11-16-12. She was last seen on 11-11-2012 in the Macedonia, Iowa area. She has 4 tattoos: a large sun in between her shoulder blades, a tattoo on her left hip, a tattoo on the top of her foot and a flower on her lower back.
