Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.)

The Emergency Response Team is comprised of 13 certified law enforcement members from the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office and 3 certified tactical paramedics from the Council Bluffs Fire Department.

The primary goal of the E.R.T. is to provide a peaceful resolution to a high risk situation while trying to protect the lives and safety of all those involved. The team receives additional training in tactics and weapons to assist them in accomplishing our primary goal.

The E.R.T. members are on a voluntary "on-call" status 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We also have worked with surrounding law enforcement agencies on joint assignments.
